The rise in tempo and pattern of collaboration sought with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) peaked again this evening when the Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre (NARC), Major General G.A. Wahab, arrived the NCC to explore opportunities for collaboration with the Commission.

Although NARC was established as a think-tank for the Nigerian Army and the country, a special interface with Army Headquarters and other related agencies is required to bridge any communication gap. General Wahab stated that NCC's support will be required to achieve this.

Ephraim Nwokenneya, NCC's Director of Research and Development who received General Wahab and his team on behalf of Prof. Umar Danbatta, the EVC/CE of NCC, told the visitors that facilitating research which is a focus of NARC, is also at the heart of NCC's mandate. Nwokenneya established the basis for exploring collaboration when he also recalled that two items on the 8-Point Agenda of NCC's Management - Promoting Innovation and Investment, as well as Strategic Collaboration and Partnership - speak to the significance of the present engagement and discourse.

He assured Wahab that "NCC would continue to partner with agencies of government and will certainly appreciate collaboration with NARC" because opportunities have always been features of telecom which explains why ICT has been the driver of many accomplishments in other sectors and impacted Nigeria's economy.
