A staff of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Kings Adeyemi, has been installed as the National Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE).
Adeyemi, an Engineer and Principal Manager in the Technical Standards and Network Integrity (TSNI) Department of the Commission, was installed as the 19th Chairman of the Institute on Saturday (25/01/2020) at a ceremony in Abuja.

The Lagos Zonal Office (LGZO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is implementing a partnership, a Work Experience Programme, with Lagos Central Senatorial District.
The partnership, which incloves the engagement of 10 newly graduated young persons, is a month-long exercise. The programme is designed to empower youth with requisite work ethics, appropriate behaviour in an official environment, and basic capacity building on telecommunication issues.

Top Management staff of Facebook, a leading global digital services provider, paid a visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) this evening to explore opportunities for collaboration and partnership for infrastructure deployment to strengthen connectivity, enhance businesses and bolster citizens' embrace of digital culture.
Underscoring the centrality of infrastructure to the flourishing of digital culture, Ibrahima Ba, Network Investment Lead at Facebook Office in the United States, who led the Facebook delegation to NCC, stated that robust infrastructure is the bedrock of the massive connectivity that signposts Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, because without adequate and right type of infrastructure there can be no robust connectivity.

We received with dismay the decision of some states of the Federation to increase the Right of Way charges in disregard of the resolutions reached by the National Economic Council (NEC).
It may be recalled that in 2013, NEC set up a Committee comprising State Governors and Ministers to review the issues of multiple taxation in the telecommunications industry in Nigeria and its impact.

VIDEO: NCC hosts Swedish Ambassador, lauds Sweden's ICT capacity development initiatives.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), on thursday (9th January 2020) hosted the Swedish Ambassador to ECOWAS, Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria, His Excellency Carl Michael Grans at NCC Head Office. Discussions at the meeting focused on enhancing ICT capacity development and broadband penetration in Nigeria.
Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of NCC while receiving the Ambassador noted that the meeting was at the instance of the Commission, based on the Commission's assessment of the offer for capacity development and focus of the Swedish Programme for ICT Development in Emerging Regions (SPIDER), a dedicated programme instituted to provide capacity building in emerging markets.
