The Port Harcourt Zonal Office (PHZO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) recently embarked on another sensitisation by roadshow in Rivers State, focused on consumer rights and privileges as well as consumer obligations in the telecommunications industry.
The Zonal Office took the roadshow to telecoms consumers in Old GRA, Ogbunabali and the popular GSM Village at Garrison, Port Harcourt.
Speaking during the roadshow, the Controller of NCC PHZO, Venny Eze-Nwabufoh, who led the sensitisation campaign, said the programme was aimed at deepening consumer awareness in terms of their rights as telecoms consumers and keeping them aware of initiatives by the Commission to protect and empower them.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has said that the 622 Toll-Free Line created by the NCC for complaints management serves as a second level of complaint for telecom consumers who had earlier complained about services to their service providers and need to escalate the issue.
Aliyu Ibrahim, Head, Consumer Protection and Advocacy at NCC, stated this at the maiden edition of National Advertising Conference organised by the Adverstising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), held on 27th November, 2019 at the Transcorp Hotel.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has educated 110 pupils of Royal Family Academy Primary School, Wuye Abuja and their teachers, who came on an educational visit to the Commission to understand its operations.
Receiving the pupils and their teachers on behalf of Prof. Umar Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission earlier today (26/11/2019), Abigail Solanke, Director, Corporate Planning, Strategy and Risk Management (CPS&RM), said as the country’s independent telecoms regulatory authority, the NCC’s role include “stimulating the growth of the Nigerian telecom sector to ensure every Nigerian enjoys telecoms services wherever they may be in the country as well as protecting the interests of the consumers.”
