VIDEO: EVC NCC Attends NAE Dinner... says collaboration with NAE will bring disruptive innovation

The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission stated that the Commission’s collaboration with the Nigerian Academy of Engineering (NAE) would bring about efficient and productive innovations.

The EVC of NCC, Professor Umar Garba Danbatta, said this at the 2018 Nigerian Academy of Engineering Annual Technology Dinner Lecture, held on 20th June 2018, at the Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Professor Danbatta said the NCC’s collaboration with NAE would bring disruptive innovations in the industry that will usher in a new way of doing things, as well as efficiency and productivity in the telecom industry in Nigeria.

He said, “This collaboration is in line with the eight point agenda of the NCC, one of which is strategic collaboration and partnerships. To that extent, NCC has already established a new department of Research and Development.

“Only recently, we gave out Fifty Million Naira (N50,000,000) to members of the academic staff of various universities in order to facilitate research that will translate to innovations that will lead to containment of challenges in the industry, and we look forward to seeing some of the results of this collaboration.”
