…As international recognitions underscore project’s impact on Nigerians
The activation of Emergency Communication Centers (ECCs) across the country by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is making far-reaching impact and enhancing the Federal Government’s drive to improve security of lives and property, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, has said.
The NCC has received two international recognitions from the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and the African Public Relations Association (APRA) in acknowledgment of the transformational role of the ECCs in providing succor to Nigerians who are in emergencies.

The ongoing National Identification Number (NIN) and Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) integration exercise has been extended by 8 weeks, with a new deadline of April 6, 2021.
This message was conveyed by the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) during the meeting of the Ministerial Taskforce on NIN-SIM registration held on February 1, 2021. Dr Pantami stated that the extension is to give Nigerians and legal residents more time to integrate their NIN with the SIM.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) would like to draw the attention of the public to a report in an online publication purporting that the Commission had concluded work on the licensing framework that will open Nigerian telecoms market for the launch of Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO).
The Commission, however, categorically states that such report is untrue, speculative and unfounded and should be disregarded in its entirety by the members of the public. The MVNO licence framework, an important precursor to the licensing of this category of telecoms players, is not yet concluded, contrary to the statement in the said media report.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) said it has tightened the noose against cases of data depletion and wrong deductions of consumers’ credit through an ongoing forensic audit instituted by the Commission to ensure maximum protection for consumers.
The Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, stated this when he received Man of the Year 2020 Award from MoneyReport magazine recently in Abuja.

The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, has received the prestigious “Man of the Year 2020” award from the Publishers of MoneyReport Magazine.
The award was presented to Danbatta at the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja, on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 by the Board Chairman, MoneyReport and former Director-General of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), Prof. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke who was represented by Dr. Eke Agbai, the Executive Vice President at the Center for Policy and Foreign Engagement (CPFE) and Board member of MoneyReport Magazine.
