Hajiya Maryam Abdullahi Bayi is a distinguished Administrator and Human Resources professional with over 35 years of impactful service across the public and private sectors. She holds a BSc in Political Science (Public Administration) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, an MBA in Employee Relations from the University of Leicester, UK, and an Honorary Doctor of Science in Human
Resource Management and Corporate Leadership from the European American University of Ghana.
A Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, she is known for her strategic leadership and commitment to institutional growth.
She served for 15 years at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), culminating as Director, Human Capital & Administration, where she introduced major reforms in recruitment, promotions, training, and staff welfare. She also
previously led the Consumer Affairs Bureau, championing nationwide consumer protection initiatives.
Her earlier career includes a decade at the New Nigerian Newspapers, where she rose from Personnel Officer to Editorial Board Member and introduced the women’s page “Feminine Focus”. She served as a Board Commissioner at the Kaduna State Women’s Commission.
Hajiya Maryam has represented Nigeria in several international forums across Africa, Europe, and Asia, speaking on telecommunications, human development, and gender issues. Post-retirement, she continues to contribute through consultancy and also as Managing Director of Daleel Farms Ltd, an agribusiness creating employment opportunities for youth.
