The objective of the VEC project is construct a 250-Seater Capacity laboratory in the Technology-driven higher institutions across the country. The computers are equipped with specialized software applications which are required for technology planning designs, digital skill research and development among others.
The objective of the eHealth project is to use ICTs to significantly improve access and delivery of healthcare services in healthcare facilities across the country. It is expected that the NCC e-Health Project would lead to general improvement in the turnaround time, quality and scale of healthcare services delivery in public health to the beneficiary health institutions.
This project is to provide wireless connectivity cloud within the campus community to enhance learning and access to educational content even after school hours. This initiative is usually deployed in urban institutions where it is envisaged that the staff and students have personal ICT devices.

This is an intervention being implemented in conjunction with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). The main aim of this intervention is to establish a state-of-the-art facility where online examinations can be conducted to entrench efficiency, effectiveness and curb examination malpractices. The project includes state of the art building, furniture, computers, servers, networking, power supply and connectivity. University Matriculation Examinations and other examinations can take place in the centres.
The ADAPTI initiative is aimed at bridging the digital information gaps that exists in the academia and facilitate remote research and learning between lecturers and students by providing computers, other ICT equipment and the necessary facilities to afford the lecturers, staff and students the requisite ICT skills in the new digital economy ecosystem. The NCC supplies Laptop Computer and E- pads and other ICT equipment, including scanners and printers to the beneficiary institutions. This also includes, the provision of E-Learning applications for academics and students in tertiary institutions across the country.
To address the digital information knowledge gap in the Country, especially among the teeming youthful population. The strategy of this Programme is to expose schools and colleges to Information & Communication Technology (ICT), raise awareness, usage and application by the provision of desktop computers, Local Area Networks (LAN), printers, scanners and one-year bandwidth subscription for internet access.
The major component of DAP project is Construction of Computer laboratory. supply and installation of Generator, Air Conditioners. Branded window blinds and signage in selected beneficiary schools across the country.
The Emergency Communications Centres (ECC) Project is intended to bridge the communication gap between the distressed and emergency response agencies in the country. The Nigerian Communications Commission has undertaken the task of facilitating the building and equipping Emergency Communications Centres in all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. All telecom operators will be mandated to route emergency calls through the dedicated three-digit toll free number, 112, from each state to the emergency centre within that state. The operators, who are resident in the ECC will then process the distress call and contact the relevant Emergency Response Agency (e.g. Fire Service, Police, FRSC, Ambulance, etc.) whose primary duty is to handle the case.
The NCC took the lead in establishing the Digital Bridge Institute, a tertiary institution with three central objectives in mind. First is to provide students with quality education and training; second is to engage in world-class research; and third is to engage in outreach and public services.
In view of this, the institute's objectives are to:
- Promote the development of human resources capacity by training personnel in telecoms and ICT sectors of the economy;
- Establish training facility with mordern infrastructure and technology for training engineers, ICT professionals, policy makers, and regulators in the relevant and related sectors of the economy.
The Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) registration initiative - which required all mobile phone subscribers to register their SIM cards with their respective mobile network operators - was designed to capture the identity of mobile phone subscribers for identity and security management. The exercise involved a massive campaign by the NCC across cities and rural areas of the country, and despite the challenges, it has been adjudged to be a huge success. The registration exercise of old SIM cards was officially concluded by the NCC on June 30, 2013 while that of new SIM continues.
In furtherance of its efforts to promote competition, improve quality of service and ensure that consumers continue to enjoy good experience on the mobile networks, the NCC launched mobile number portability (MNP) service for GSM subscribers in April 2013. The MNP enables consumers to switch networks without losing their cellular phone numbers.
