The Governing body of the Nigerian Communications Commission consists of a board of nine Commissioners; made up of six Non-executive members, including the Chairman - representing each of the six Geopolitical Zones of Nigeria - and three Executive members, including the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive and two Executive Commissioners.
Professor Adeolu Akande is the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Nigerian Communications Commission. Akande is a Professor of Comparative Politics and Political Communication at the Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State where he also serves as the Director of the Centre for Presidential Studies. A veteran of the newspaper industry, he was, previously, the Chairman, Board of National Information Technology Development Agency, (NITDA). He assumed the chairmanship of the Board of Commissioners of the Nigerian Communications Commission in February 2020 following his nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR.
Professor Umar Garba Danbatta is the Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). He is currently serving a second term of five years in office, following the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020.
Engr. Ubale Ahmed Maska is the Executive Commissioner (Technical Services) of the Nigerian Communications Commission. He was confirmed by the Senate for a second term as Executive Commissioner following his nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari in August 2019. Immediately prior to his first appointment, by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in 2014, Engr. Maska served as the Director - Compliance Monitoring & Enforcement. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Director of the Engineering, and Technical Research & Standards Directorates, and as Head of Cyber Security in the New Media & Information Security Department.

He was confirmed by the Senate as Executive Commissioner following his nomination by President Muhammadu Buhari. A legal practitioner with decades of experience in governance, reform and public administration, Adeleke Adewolu has served in numerous public and private institutions of repute in Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Prof. Millionaire Freeborn Nestor Abowei is a Commissioner / Member of the Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission. An indigene of Angiamagbene, Bayelsa State, Prof. Abowei is a Chemical and Petrochemical Engineer, a University Lecturer, a consultant, a researcher and an inventor with well over 30 articles published in several professional journals.
Mr. Salman Abdulazeez Muhammed is a Commissioner / Member of the Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission. A native of Ilorin from Ilorin-East Local Government Area in Kwara State, Mallam Salman attended the Nigerian Military School Zaria, and proceeded to the prestigious University of Ilorin, where he obtained a B.Sc in Computer Science. He has a master’s degree in Information Technology from LAUTEC Ogbomosho.

Professor Mansur Bindawa Auwalu is a Commissioner/ Member of the Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission.
An indigene of Bindawa in Katsina State, Prof. Auwalu obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture (Upper Second Class (Honours) division) from the famous Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria in 1984, a Master of Science degree in Agronomy from the same University, in 1989, and a Ph. D (Agronomy) awarded by Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi in 1995.
