The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) organised a reception/presentation of its new Board of Commissioners to the Nigerian telecommunications industry. The three new Non-Executive Members of the Board of Commissioners and one Executive Commissioner were nominated by the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR on August 2, 2016 and confirmed by the Nigerian Senate on November 17, 2016.
The new members of the Board are Senator Olabiyi Durojaiye (Chairman), Mr. Sunday Akin Dare (Executive Commissioner – Stakeholder Management), Mr. Clement Omeiza Baiye (Commissioner) and Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume (Commissioner).
The event took place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
