The Vice President of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, Professor. Fola Lasisi who led the delegation stated in his opening remarks that they have come to express appreciation of the support accorded to them, to strengthen their relationship with the Commission and invite the EVC to be inducted as a Fellow of the Academy.
The EVC while welcoming the delegation said the Nigerian Academy of Engineering has been making profound impact in the industry especially in manufacturing sector.
Professor Umar Garba Danbatta said the Commission has always worked in partnership with the Nigerian Academy of Engineering over the years, even before his emergence at the helm of affairs and that, he has only inherited the excellent tradition that has started in the past.
He stressed that “the Commission is committed to collaborating with the Academy in order to contribute its widow’s might towards the development of engineering in the country. We believe by so doing we will bring solace to some citizens through these efforts as well as carving a niche for ourselves.”
He said the Commission is ready to collaborate with the Academy and in its organization of the 2018 inaugural lecture due to hold in Lagos.
