NIOMA is designed to celebrate outstanding individuals and corporate bodies driving the Nigerian Online revolution. It evaluated and rated the websites of credible institutions using the following criteria:
Content- error free website pages, best use of photography, clear and concise posts, up to date/ current relevant information to the public and number of visitations to Websites.
Interactive User Interface- feedback/ response mechanism, simplicity and easy use of feedback channels.
Best Designed Websites- branding, elegance, how businesslike, sharpness and modesty of presentation defines this criterion.
Best Use of Social Media to Disseminate Information- this criterion looks at the use of social media networks in disseminating information and promoting visibility on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn as well as YouTube.
NIOMA proclaimed that based on the assessment carried out on MDAs Websites, NCC’s Website presents the most interactive, current, relevant and error free site aside from its unique design and simplicity, visitors experience and also, the Commission was noted for best use of social Media networks to promote visibility and interaction with its various stakeholders in the industry.
The awarding body stated that the objective of the Awards is to foster the growth and development of the online platform for the promotion of businesses online. The awards provide innovative online sites with the visibility and reputation they deserve.
It can be recalled that NCC received 3 outstanding awards in 2017 from Phillips Consulting, best performing website was one of the awards.
The Minister for Communications Technology, Barrister Adebayo Shittu also bagged Minister of the Year in the ministerial category.
Abraham Oshadami, Head Information Technology received the award on behalf of the Commission and assured the gathering that the Commission is committed to doing more for the development of humanity, while promising to convey the award to Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, the EVC/ CEO of NCC.
