The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria ( APCON) paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission Head Office, on 30th October, 2018 where they delivered a presentation on its proposed summit theme “ Branding Approach: “ A Tool for Enhancing Public Sector Objectives”. 

The APCON Team comprised of Ahmed Yalwa, Head Zonal Operations, North Central APCON and Chidi Onwumere, A Consultant to APCON. 

Chidi Onwumere, stated that “ their mission is to turn around the image of the public sector in Nigeria utilising branding strategies. 

He further stated that the summit will educate public sector officials on how to rebrand and direct their own narratives & stories, which would consequently enhance their engagements with their various stakeholders. 

Onwumere noted that “ APCON has decided to come up with a summit to bring together heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Nigeria (MDAs) at the Yaradua Centre on December 11th, 2018 , to ensure they engage with professionals who will teach on employing branding as a tool to enhance and further their objectives”. 

He commended NCC for engaging continuously with their audiences through their several Consumer Centric Programmes. 

Okoh Aihe , Head of Public Relations, who represented the EVC welcomed the delegation and commended their effort in organising the forthcoming summit and, appreciated APCON for planning to collaborate with NCC.

Okoh added that “ NCC would be happy to tell its story as well as teach & learn from other agencies.
