The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Prof. Umar Danbatta, this morning in Lagos chaired the 2019 Roundtable on Corporate Governance organised by the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria.

The Executive Vice Chairman stated that corporate governance "is a collection of mechanisms, relations and processes that together drive organizations". He stressed that every organization needs a good corporate governance culture as if the institutional structure is weak then there is no way such an organisation can be strong.

Emphasizing the centrality of organisational culture to the accomplishment of goals, Prof. Danbatta affirmed that if there is a right culture in an organization then such an organization can be transformed to assume a world class status. He expressed faith in the fact that if individual organisations can replicate good corporate governance structure then the country can be transformed both socially and economically for the better.
