In keeping with NCC's commitment to the education and enlightenment of consumers on topical issues in the telecoms industry, the Director Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement at the Commission, Efosa Idehen and Controller, Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Commission, Venny Eze-Nwabufoh recently featured in radio interactive sessions in the city of Port Harcourt.

Focused on "Importance of SIM Registration and Dangers of Using Pre-registered SIM Cards”, the radio programme is a continuation of the public enlightenment and interactive sessions on radio stations across the zones to sensitize all stakeholders on the implications of buying, selling and using improperly registered SIM cards.

The interactive sessions held on Radio Rivers 99.1 FM; Treasure FM 98.5 FM; and Today FM 95.1 FM; Wish FM 99.5 over a period of four days.

The program afforded telecom consumers and other stakeholders in Port Harcourt City and the environs the opportunity to get accurate information on issues regarding SIM card registration, replacement and other related telecom issues, as the NCC officials fielded questions on different aspects of SIM card registration and usage. The programme was broadcast in standard English Language as well as in Pidgin English.The latter is popularly spoken in the Niger Delta region.
