In its commitment to continually engage stakeholders at all levels, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) earlier today hosted pupils and students of Jewel Model School Kubwa and Dorben Digital Schools, Bwari, Abuja to an educational visit.

The educational tour visit is designed to enhance students’ learning by providing opportunities for the students to participate in non-curriculum activities outside the normal school routine.

The pupils and students, numbering 110, were recieved by Abigal Sholanke, Director, Corporate Planning, Strategy and Risk Management (CPS&RM), NCC on behalf of the Commission and, educated them on various aspects of telecommunication regulations in Nigeria.

Represented by Nwabuogo Okorie, Senior Manager, NCC, Sholanke said the Commission is committed to effective regulation of the industry and protection of the consumers.

Margaret Amaku, Senior Manager in the Consumer Affairs Bureau of the Commission and Elizabeth Yisa, Senior Manager in the New Media and Information Security Department of the Commission also enlightened the students on consumer protection activities of the Commission as well as sensitised them on cybercrime and cyber-security respectively.

As part of the activities usually lined up for such a study tour at the Commission, the students, who had ample opportunity to ask various questions bothering on the Commission's regulatory activities and on telecoms service delivery, were subsequently taken around the NCC Museum and NCC Server Room.
