The Association of Professional Creative Artists and Designers in Nigeria paid a courtesy call to the EVC/ CEO of NCC to discuss ways of collaborating with the Commission to help educate the teeming artists and designers in Nigeria of the role ICT has come to play in Arts, graphic designs and all spheres of our lives.
The Association was represented by Its Chairman BOT/ National President Mr. Kingsley Okafor and Secretary BOT/National Vice President whom were welcomed by Director Public Affairs, Mr. Tony Ojobo in his office on behalf of the EVC.

Tony Ojobo, Director Public Affairs, NCC, has received the Award of OUTSTANDING PROMOTER OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The Award, an addition to the ever-swelling trove of honours that has become a distinguishing mark of the NCC, was received few hours ago at the Titans of Technology Award ceremony which took place at Oriental Hotel Lagos.

Communications Minister, Honourable Adebayo Shittu, yesterday played host to his colleagues - Lai Mohammed, Information; Chris Ngige, Labour and Employment ; Muhammad Bello, Federal Capital Territory, and many other heads of MDAs, including the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of Nigerian Communications Commission, Prof. Umar Danbatta, as well as government officials, businessmen, and array of stakeholders who thronged the Congress Hall, Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja for the opening session of the Nigerian Smart City Summit.
The Summit, a programme of the Nigeria Smart City Initiative (NSCI) organised by the Federal Ministry of Communications in collaboration with AFRITEX Initiative, is a rare but quite exciting assemblage of government officials, urban planners and developers, policy makers, city administrators and other related stakeholders who saw the need to converge and reflect on how to develop effective strategies for emergence of the Smart City phenomenon in Nigeria.

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, hosted a 3-Day summit of Strategy Focal Persons, otherwise called CHANGE CHAMPIONS at Keffi, Nasarawa State.
Convened annually by the Corporate Planning and Strategy Department of the Commission, the Summit is an assemblage of representatives of all departments in the Commission, who in addition to their core responsibilities work with their colleagues under the superintendency of Directors/Heads of Departments to oversee the implementation of Corporate Strategy to ensure adherence to policy and processes, as well as the success of the Strategic Management Plan 2014-2018 and other extant policies of the Commission.
Mr. Sunday Dare, the Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management, who represented the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, recalled the accomplishments of the Commission especially in sustaining growth of the economy despite the attendant challenges of telecommunication service provision. He enjoined staff not to be complacent on their oars because of centrality of telecommunication to the growth of all sectors of the economy.
