The NCC Director of Compliance Monitoring and Enforcement, Efosa Idehen has repeated an earlier statement of the Commission that it would employ the provisions of the Constitution to prosecute anyone caught violating the guidelines on SIM registration because such infractions undermine national security and interests.

Idehen stated this today in Kano through Salisu Abdu, NCC Head of Enforcement, who spoke in his stead at the regional sensitization workshop on the dangers of dealing on fraudulently activated SIM cards.

Sunday Dare, the Executive Commissioner Stakeholder Management, who was represented at the Workshop by his Special Assistant, Quassim Odunmbaku, urged stakeholders to eschew impropriety in the SIM card registration process because such breaches will undermine national security.

Yahaya Hamisu, Principal Manager at the Information Technology Department; Ibe Ngwoke, Principal Manager Legal and Regulatory Services; and Terseer Saror, Senior Manager Projects, all of NCC also made presentations on SIM Registration backend, SIM regulations, and expectations from Mobile Network Operators respectively. Participants at the well-attended workshop also asked questions on various aspects of the presentations.
