The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) this morning (18/12/2019) met a medley and rare assemblage of stakeholders, including top echelon of military and paramilitary personnel and key telecom industry players, at a Consultative Forum it organised on regulating the deployment of drones in the country.

…Why We Initiated this New Plan - Pantami.
The need to boost broadband penetration from its present coverage of 37.8% to over 70% in the next five years is the pedestal for the new National Broadband Plan NBP (2020-2025) according to Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami.
Besides this, the Minister said, pervasive broadband penetration will certainly make Nigeria a truly digital economy. He spoke yesterday at the inauguration of a 25-member committee in Abuja.

The Director of Technical Standards and Network Integrity (DTSNI) at the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Bako Wakil, a certified engineer, was inducted as a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) on Thursday (12/12/2019).
Wakil was among over 50 engineers inducted as fellows by the NSE. Many of them captains of industries, and leaders in businesses, were inducted during the 13th Fellowship Conferment and Lecture that took place in Abuja.

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has commended the Nigerian media for their role in adequately and accurately educating the Nigerian public about the Commission’s ‘2017 Year of the Consumer’ initiative.
The Commission says it is determined to strengthen collaboration with the media for increased education of telecoms consumer in the country.
