Telecom consumers and other stakeholders in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, this afternoon, defied the scorching sun to receive the team from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) who arrived the city for the latest edition of Telecom Consumer Conversation.
Despite the declaration of the 2017 as Year of the Telecom Consumer by the NCC, the regulatory authority for telecommunications services in Nigeria continue to demonstrate that the telecom consumer is the lifeblood of the telecom sector and by that fact reiterating the centrality of the consumer in the telecom ecology.

The Management of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), on Thursday 28th March, 2019, began the send forth process for 12 amazing and wonderful management staff who will exit the Commission effective from April 1, 2019 when they will commence their terminal leave.
Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of NCC noted at the special valedictory executive management session held this afternoon to herald another senior management meeting coming up tomorrow that the staff “will be leaving a vacuum difficult to fill”.

Meet the Regulator is one of several initiatives of the Commission which has now been institutionalized and held periodically as a forum of the regulator and segments of the service providers to discuss and clarify issues relating to regulations and compliance in order to enhance regulatory excellence and operational efficiency in the Telecom industry.

Despite achieving the target of 30 percent broadband penetration by end of 2018, the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) this morning held a stakeholder consultative forum on Television White Spaces (TVWS) as part of its efforts to expand the geography of access to broadband Internet in Nigeria's rural areas.
The Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, who spoke through the Commission's Director of Spectrum Administration, Austin Nwalunne, at the consultative forum on rural connectivity using TVWS, held at Barcelona Hotel, Abuja, said NCC is exploring this seminal phenomenon because of its awareness of the enormous opportunities of TVWS as an alternative mode of spectrum utilization.

The Management team of the United States Trade Development Agency (USTDA), led by its Acting Country Director, Thomas Hardy, on Thursday, 21st March 2019, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission’s (NCC) Head Office in Abuja.
The USTDA team was received by the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive (EVC/CE) of NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta. The chairman of NCC Board of Commissioners, Otunba Olabiyi Durojaiye, was also at the reception.
