The Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Prof. Umar Danbatta, earlier today met senior media executives, ICT correspondents and other communication specialists at a special interactive session held at the Lagos Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja to share the successes of the implementation of the 8-Point Agenda and the attendant challenges of telecom regulation.
The meeting, Danbatta said, was an expression of Management’s effort to translate into concrete action the agendum on stakeholder collaboration and partnership because the media is central among NCC’s stakeholders, “a key player in the value chain through which Commission gets feedback and on whose expertise NCC can leverage to reach out to other stakeholders about its strides and initiatives”.

The Agidingbi neighbourhood and the adjourning settlements felt the unusual presence of persons of all status yesterday when the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, stormed The Blue Roof Events Centre to unveil the YEAR OF THE NIGERIAN TELECOM CONSUMER campaign, earlier launched in Abuja on March 15, 2017, the day set aside by the global community as the World Consumer Rights Day.

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, yesterday held the 85th edition of the Consumer Outreach Programme (COP) at the DLK Events Centre in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Organized in congruence with the framework of the declaration of 2017 as YEAR OF NIGERIAN TELECOM CONSUMER, this edition of the COP focused on Information and Education as Catalyst for Consumer Protection.

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Mubadala Development Company (MDC), owners of Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services (EMTS) trading in Nigeria as Etisalat, Mr. Waleed al-Muhain, yesterday led a team from the Etisalat Group on a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). The team was received by NCC's EVC/CEO, Prof. Umar Danbatta at the Commission's head office in Abuja.

The Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) held its maiden edition of the Consumer- Conversation Forum at the Hall of Celebration Asaba, Delta State on Thursday, April 27, 2017 drawing a mix of stakeholders: market groups, students, representatives of telecoms operators, community leaders, government and non-governmental organisations.
The Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the NCC, Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta was represented by the Zonal Controller, Port Harcourt Zonal Office Engr. Chidi Diugwu. The Commission’s recognition of telecoms consumers and the commitment to protect their rights were central to the EVC’s welcoming address.
